How to act as a clown - My philosopher

Image
My little son was on his foot, eagerly awaiting my arrival from office for evening cricket. He did not allow me to relax for a moment, but kept on urging me to come for playing. I changed my dress and addressed his wish. Whenever I play any game, I used to play with full involvement. Hence I took the ball, and bowled at him at decent pace. He was hitting the ball well. After about 30 minutes of playing intense cricket, he said, "Dad, Let us stop the game now". I asked him "Hey but Why?Now It is just 5:30", because he would never like to finish the game before it is dark. "I got bored, dad" he said, and did not wait anymore but went into his room. I got confused and sat for while at the ground itself. After few minutes he came out of the house, well dressed, and looked outside at the other side of the road. I just watched, what he was doing. Then after few restless walks near the compound, he came back to me and said, "OK, come on dad, let us play cri

Men shed tears - For different reasons

Image
Few days ago I had an opportunity to spend valuable time with my friend. We generally talk about the society, culture, attitudes and mind. That day it was no different and we talked about commonalities of men and women. She said, tears are inherited to women alone, but men do not shed tears. Also she substantiated her statement by saying that, men won't express their predicament but try to solve on their own. I had no choice but to agree as she had complimented men. Yesterday I had a call which urged me to visit one of my workers house. He had worked as a labourer in my earlier department. He was very obedient and highly disciplined god fearing young man. As he was well built, he used to handle even heaviest objects with ease. I had very good five years leading him at work place and helped him personally as well. Unfortunately, the department had to be closed owing to loss. I was transferred to another department, but the contract workers had lost their job. From that day onwar

My wish, Your wish and Divine wish

Image
I have a feeling that, We are perceiving the world fallaciously most of the time and pass judgments. This, I feel, is the main cause for our miseries. In the course we neither trust god nor ourselves. If some activity takes place according to my wish, I feel happy and top of the world. If the activity goes against my wish, I feel unhappy and find the whole world against me. Even I doubt whether a god do exist or not. Sometimes I feel that, I have lost control of the activity and try to console myself. This is true for everyone of us, I am sure. Here I have not mentioned anything about "your wish", because "Your wish" is your "My wish". Isn't it? Hence there are only two things, My wish and Divine wish. Any activity, or happening in the world has to fall in anyone of the two categories. As I said earlier, I am on top of the world when everything happens according to my wish, but what happens if it doesn't? Should I get upset over it, or should I ac

Every child is Unique - Beware Parents

A Day before yesterday, I celebrated my fifteenth wedding anniversary. Ah. What an exciting day it was.... It brought me back the memories of my marriage with my beautiful wife viju. She has been my strength all throughout my life so far. She taught me 'what caring is all about'. As far as I am concerned every day is a wedding day as long as she is with me. We were greeted by all my well wishers. I arranged for an evening party in which all my friends had attended with their family whole heartedly. Usually I engage the children with some fun games. This time I wanted to do it differently. So I prepared a small questionnaire and asked them to write their answers. The questions were prepared in such a way to findout the kind of family environment they have and how much they love their parents. Few questions and astonishing answers are written here. 1. Marriage date and day of their parents - All the children answered correctly 2. The latest gift they received from their parents -

Height of Innocence

It was a sunny afternoon. The scorching sun was depleting whatever wetness witnessed over the roadside platform. I parked my bike by the side of the road and proceeded to the shop which was open luckily. I went inside and finished my little purchase within few minutes (I was alone, otherwise few hours won't have been sufficient) When I got out of the shop, I noticed a woman in mid-twenties giving some instructions to a child, apparently her son, aged around Three. The dress she wore spelt out that she is a begger. The boy never wore anything. The woman was feeding him food in a small dish. I went near my bike with the small luggage and lifted my leg to start the bike. Now, the boy ran towards me and within a moment he grabbed my left leg and started the dialogue, which his mother had instructed so far. "Sir, I have not eaten for two days, sir, I am very hungry, please give me paise, sir...." I was perturbed by the kind of act the boy performed. But I managed to cool mysel
