Namasivaya and Sivayanama - What I read, Want to Share

Image
The origin of Namasivaya and the Sanskrit alphabets according to Tirumular. (verse 891) The Panchakshara Mantra (5-letter mantra) has two aspects: Subtle and Manifest (Suksma and Sthula). Suksma Mantra is Sivayanama .  The manifest Mantra is  NaMaSivaYa . As you may notice the head of the Subtle Mantra is Siva and the tail is  Nama. In the Sthula Mantra the head and the tail are inverted or transposed. Significance: Manifest man-embodied soul (Ya) has the head in Nama meaning he suffers from Na - obscuration (unclear) of spiritual knowledge and Ma (a load of Mummalams: Anava, Kanma and Maya Malas). The liberated man Ya (Jivan Mukta) enjoys Si and Va (Siva and Grace; his NaMa left him. Perfected souls who do not want and will not be subjected to rebirth and suffering  in this world chant SiVaYaNaMa . By this Mantra one invokes Si and Va (Siva and  Grace) to come to Ya (the soul) so that Na and Ma (Tirodhana and Malas) leave the  soul. Siddhars chant the Mantra

He who points out the ills of others would have a stinking mouth. He who steals grain would be born as handicapped. The Misraka(adulterator) who buys good grains and adulterates it with bad grain would have extra organs. The one who steals food would be diseased , he who muzzles the opinion of others be born as a dumb one , the one who steals cloth would be born as one with Leucoderma and the one who steals a horse would be born lame. The people who do such sins would not be liked by good people , would be zombies, would be dumb, would be blind , would be deaf and would have ugly looking organs. People who due to avarice steal gems, corals and pearls would be bor

White owl in Srimushnam temple

Image
When I walked around the "Pragaram" of Bhuvaragaswamy temple, I noticed a hissing noise aside. I searched and found this bird inside a tank. To my surprise, it was a white owl. I am sure that it is rare specie. But, Alas,  poor bird's wings are not fit to take a flight. Out of fear, the poor bird was making the hissing sound to frighten me. I have heard that sighting an owl is considered to an omen. I don't know it is good or bad omen. But certainly not a good omen for the poor animal. My god see it to a safe destination.
