Srija Seshadri - Joint winner of Asian youth Chess Championship

Srija Seshadri, D/o Seshadri, S.E.E / M of Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd has jointly won the gold medal with Monnisha from New Delhi in the Asian Youth Championship held at Tivoli Garden Resort, for the Under 12 category. Indians won eight gold medals as Srija Seshadri and Monnisha were tied for first in the under-12 girls section and were both awarded gold. Showing they had a lot of talent, Indians swept all medals in both sections of the Under-8 category.
India won a total of eight gold, seven silver and eight bronze. Vietnam won two gold, while Kazakhstan, UAE and Iran won one each.
Srija Seshadri is studying in IX standard at Jawahar Higher Secondary School (CBSE), Neyveli. As citizens of Neyveli, we feel proud. Congratulations to Srija Seshadri.
